  1. Prospertiy is a time when there is low unemployment and people who want to work are working, businesses produce goods and services, wages are good and the rate of GDP growth increases.
Recession is a period in which demand descreases, businesses lower production, unemployment rises, and GDP growth slows for 2 or more quarters.
Depression is a phase that has high unemployment, weak consumer sales, and business failures. GDP falls rapidly.
Recovery is the phase in which unemployment begins to decrease, demand for goods and services increases, and GDP begins to rise again.
I think that the U.S. economy is currently in the recession stage because unemployment is rising and demand decreases because people don't have money to spend on certain things.

Depression: the phase of the business cycle that is marked by a prolonged period of high unemployment, weak consumer sales, and business failures.
Recovery: the welcome phase in the business cycle in which unemployment begins to decrease, demand for goods and services increases, and gross domestic product begins to rise again.

I think that the U.S. is in a recession, because many people do not have jobs and there is not a demand for supplies.

  3. Prosperity, is the phase when unemployment is low and the demand for goods is high. Recession, is what we are in now, because of businesses going bankrupt and the government's debt high. Depression, is when unemployment is at it's highest and demands for goods and services are low making it harder for people to get jobs. Recovery is the period of time when a nation is coming out of depression more jobs are available and demands for goods are going back up.

  4. There are four stages of the business cycle. The first stage is prosperity. Prosperity is a period in which most people who want to work are working, businesses produce goods and services in record numbers, wages are good, and the rate of GDP growth increases. The second stage is recession. Recession is a period in which demand begins to decrease, businesses lower production, unemployment begins to rise, and GDP growth slows for two or more quarters of the calendar year. The third stage is depression. Depression is a phase marked by a prolonged period of high unemployment, weak consumers sales, and business failures. The forth stage is recovery. Recovery is the phase in which unemplyment begins to decrease, demand for goods and services inceases, and GDP begins to rise again.I think that the U.S. economy is in the recession stage because unemployment is rising.

  7. A beleive that we are at the end of the recession and the economy might have hit the botom of the price. The recovery period is closer than it was in January to March when the economy tanked, but it could also be a year before anyone notices a change.
Recession is when unemployment is high ans the people who want to work can't find a job.
Prosperity is when people who want to work can and are working.
    Depression is a prolonged recession.

  10. Prosperity is the height of economic activity where wages are high, GDP is up,and generally everything is good. Recession is a time when demand is lowered along with supply, unemployment goes up and GDP goes down for at least 2 quarters. A depression is a time of high unemployment, weak sales, businesses fail, and GDP is lowered even more. Recovery is a time after the depression in which employment rises, demand increases, and GDP goes back up. The economy is in a recession now, lower consumer sales and slow businesses confirm.
